DisAgg extension for ArcGIS available
06/01/2009
RRG is pleased to announce the availability of a new extension for ArcGIS called DisAgg dedicated to disaggregate zonal data to the raster level. Unlike other disaggregation procedures, the new extension disaggregates statistical zonal data such as population, employment, or households, by taking account of the land use patterns. By assigning weights to each land use class, the extension will allocate the more statistical data the higher the weight for any land use class is. The user can define the raster resolution, and may use any zone layer and land use layer as input. The disaggregation will be done by complex Monte-Carlo-simulations. Data can be disaggregated from any statistical level, such as county level, municipality level or other statistical entities.
The new extension was jointly developed by S&W Urban and Regional reserch, GISCON Solutions and RRG.
