New ESPON project: ESPON INTERCO - Indicators of Territorial Cohesion

Spatial cohesion of all regions of the European Union is one of the prominent policy goals of the EU. Unfortunately to date there is a lack of appropriate indicators measuring spatial cohesion. The actual ESPON project (2010-2012) is concerned with the development of new, innovative indicators and indicies to measure cohesion. Existing indicators shall be improved and further developed, new indicators seeked, and appropriate GIS tools and methodes for the implementationa and calculation of any such indicators shall be developed.
