Accessibility potential of German regions

12/28/2012

On behalf of the Instittue of Transport Economics (IVM) of the University of Munster and TCP International, RRG calculated a series of accessibility indicators of potential type for NUTS-3 regions in Germany for passenger and goods transport for different points in time for road and railways. In the time period of 1994 to 2010, accessibility indicators to population have been calculated in 2-year intervals, by using all NUTS-3 regions in Europe as destinations and all German NUTS-3 regions as origins. The RRG GIS Database was utilized as information source for the historic development of the road and railway networks in the said period. Thus, the developed indicators reflect infrastructure investment between 1994 and 2010. [img ErgebnisseRailGüterverkehrChangePerc.png]
