On behalf of the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission, RRG generated cost matrices for regions in Europe for different years for intermodal passenger and goods transport for NUTS-3 and NUTS-2 regions in five-year intervals, from 1970 to 2010, based upon the RRG GIS Database of trans-European transport networks. This database already includes the historic development of the transport networks from 1950 until today.
